Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the TINE platform. These terms govern your access to and use of our virtual phone number service, including all associated features, tools, and applications.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using the TINE platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TINE Technologies ("TINE", "we", "our", or "us").
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years of age to use TINE.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You may not create multiple accounts for fraudulent or abusive purposes.
3. Description of Service
TINE provides a virtual phone number platform that allows users to:
- Purchase and manage virtual phone numbers
- Make and receive voice calls over the internet (VoIP)
- Send and receive SMS text messages
- Manage contacts with lead tagging and organization tools
- Create and manage teams with shared numbers and member roles
- Access the service through web browsers and mobile applications
The availability of specific features and phone numbers depends on your region and plan.
4. Account Responsibilities
Account Security
You are solely responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at security@tinetech.org if you suspect unauthorized access. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your credentials.
Accurate Information
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your profile information up to date.
One Person, One Account
Each account is for a single individual. You may not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use TINE for any of the following:
- Illegal activities of any kind, including fraud, harassment, or stalking
- Sending unsolicited bulk messages (spam) or making robocalls
- Impersonating another person, business, or government entity
- Contacting emergency services (911, 988, 112, etc.) — TINE blocks these numbers; use your device's native dialer for emergencies
- Distributing malware, viruses, or harmful content
- Interfering with or disrupting the Service or its infrastructure
- Circumventing security measures, rate limits, or access controls
- Reselling or sublicensing TINE numbers or services without authorization
- Any activity that violates applicable local, state, national, or international laws
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.
6. Phone Numbers
Number Purchases
Phone numbers purchased through TINE are licensed for your use — they are not owned by you. We reserve the right to reclaim or reassign numbers in cases of abuse, non-payment, or account termination.
Number Availability
We cannot guarantee the availability of specific phone numbers, area codes, or regions. Available inventory depends on our telephony provider.
Number Cancellation
You may cancel (release) a number at any time from the Numbers page. Cancelled numbers are released back to the pool and cannot be recovered. Any associated call history and message threads remain in your account.
Number Porting
We do not currently support porting existing phone numbers into or out of TINE. This may be offered in the future.
7. Teams
Team Ownership
The user who creates a team is the owner. Owners have full control over team settings, member management, number assignments, and activity monitoring.
Member Roles
Teams support three roles: Owner, Admin, and Member. Admins can manage members and numbers. Members have access to shared team numbers. Owners can change roles or remove any member at any time.
Shared Numbers
Numbers assigned to a team may be used by multiple members. Team owners and admins can monitor activity on shared numbers. By joining a team, you consent to this activity monitoring.
8. Billing & Payments
Credits & Pricing
TINE operates on a credit-based system. Credits are used to purchase numbers, make calls, and send messages. Current pricing is displayed on the Pricing page and within the application.
Payment Processing
Payments are processed through PayPal. By making a purchase, you agree to PayPal's terms of service in addition to these Terms.
Refunds
Credits are non-refundable once purchased, except where required by applicable law. If you experience a billing error, contact us at billing@tinetech.org within 14 days.
Price Changes
We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time. Changes will be communicated through the platform, and updated prices will apply to future purchases only.
9. Privacy
Your use of TINE is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual Property
Our Property
The TINE platform, including its design, code, branding, logos, and documentation, is owned by TINE Technologies and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.
Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you create through TINE (contacts, messages, etc.). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process and store this content as necessary to provide the Service.
11. Service Availability & Disclaimers
Availability
We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
No Emergency Services
TINE IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR TRADITIONAL PHONE SERVICE AND CANNOT BE USED TO CONTACT EMERGENCY SERVICES (911, 988, 112, ETC.). Always keep access to a traditional phone or mobile device for emergencies.
"As Is" Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TINE TECHNOLOGIES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO TINE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TINE Technologies and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, or costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
14. Termination
By You
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules, except where prohibited by law.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify you through the platform or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
